Abnormal and unhealthy? moi???

A quick just-for-fun journal page pulled together tonight while waiting for my hair to dry so I can go to bed.

I had the stencilled skull lying around already, as it was a by product of a quick test of the Copic airbrush system that I got for my birthday, and I'd already laid down some nice jewel toned paints on the page courtesy of an overloaded brush or two from another project.

So all I had to add tonight was the diamond pattern (a 2 second job with copper spraypaint), some sandpaper scratches, the crow in her little tailored jacket, and all the writing.

The page is about the fact that, throughout my life, so many people have called me "morbid", just because I like graveyards, and pet rats, and halloween, and horror movies, and all things dark and creepy.

But looking at the definition of morbid, that's not me at all - nothing abnormal and unhealthy going on - I just listened to too much Sisters of Mercy in my formative years, that's all :)

If morbid looks like your lovely page then call me that too. Sisters of Mercy and Peter Murphy paved my road to darkness too. I will meet you at Noel's house....can I bring a friend, and few cds from this era? Hmmm, wonder what those might be? *wink*

the stenciled Skull just 'pops' off the page - your choice in colours are spot on in my book!

thanks for the support, fellow morbid girls (and Paula :) )

Sue - the stencil is by Coffee Break Designs, I got it a while back from a (fabulous) online shop in the states called Retro Art Cafe. I think it's still available though as she definitely still carries their range.

Paula - the colour choice was entirely accidental - I got the airbrush gun for my birthday and it works with Copics, and the only colours I had were yellowey orange, navy blue and black. So I grabbed the 2 part skull stencil just to try it out, and the orange and blue pens, and sprayed on the back of a bit of copy paper. And although it was only a test it would have been a shame to bin it! So I worked a bit of dark purple into the background of this page to complement the yellowey orange and pretended I knew what I was doing all along :D

Haha! You're not morbid babe, you're a Goth.

Nah I am way too cheerful and upbeat to be a goth , and I have too many clothes that aren't black :) I prefer 'hippie with dark leanings' lol
