This appears to be my 400th post - freebies anyone??

Wow, didn't realise I had so much to say :)

First of all, look at Connor's new hat, isn't it cool!!

Second of all, it appears to be traditional to give away a pressie nowadays when one reaches a significant post count - I believe the young people call it "blog candy" ;)

Those that know me are aware that I have a surplus of crafting stash that makes the old EEC butter mountain look like a butter molehill :)

So I have had a good sort through and put together a big box full of really nice goodies.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is pop by, say hello by leaving a comment on this message, and, as it's Valentine's Day on Thursday and I have a new boooooyfrieeend and am very happy indeed about that, either link to something lovey dovey you have made on your own blog, or tell me your favourite romantic quote, or, if all men are bastards, write me an emo poem :D

After a week I'll get Connor to pick a name out of a hat, or something equally fair, and we'll have a winner. Remember to check back next Monday night to see if it's you...

Good luck :)

(PS I'm happy to post internationally, so don't be put off if you live outside the UK)

Hi Flo! Congrats on the 400th!

I'm not good at poems or quotes, so can I just say that I love cute hockey player boys?! That's something good to love for Valentines Day, isn't it?

I like the above quote!

ok not overly lovey dovey project as such, BUT we were on our 2nd honeymoon in Dublin (at the Guiness Factory!), celebrating 25 years of wedded 'bliss'.

Love is looking across the chip vat in Mcdonalds and realising that, despite the grease and sweat, the awkward looking boy in the fetching onion-stained polo shirt is actually really lovely.
Love is, 6 and a half months on, despite living over 100 miles apart feeling closer to him than you do to anyone else in the world and counting down the seconds until he takes you shoe shopping again.
Love is an evening cruise down the Thames and night time flight on the London Eye, just because you said you'd never been on it before.

Haha. Can you say besotted?

I love this quote I found recently... seems to work well for a valentines day sentiment. (By the way congrats on the 400th post! Lol and I love the hat!)

"There is one friend in the life of each of us who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one's self, the very meaning of one's soul."
- Edith Wharton

I don't really do romance, but just thought of this one for my 12 year old
"Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
I think your pain
But love you all the same".

I have made some Valentines cards not sure which one I am sending to hubby yet. Can't get them to link on here for some reason.

Congrats on the 400th post.

Hi, Trying again to send my silly poem.
I do not have a boyfriend
I'm looking really hard,
I want to use my Cricut
To make a Valentine's card.
He must be out there somewhere
Waiting just for me,
I only have three days left
So I'll have to wait and see!
Love your blog.

I don't have anything lovey dovey to show. I can never remember quotes off the top of my head. And as for 'all men are bastards', lmao.......i will say that 'eventually' they are all bastards, lol. And I hope this isn't a stupid question but what does 'emo' mean? By the way, Connor's hat is too cute and congrats on the new boooooyfrieend. You will definitely have a special day this Valentines's. Later :o)

Love is..... finally closing the 5 thousand mile gap that existed when you met your now partner online in a chat room.

for Audrey (from Wiki):

Emo is also sometimes associated with a certain fashion. The term "emo" is sometimes stereotyped with tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe (bangs) brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes, dyed black, straight hair, tight t-shirts which often bear the names of rock bands (or other designed shirts), studded belts, belt buckles, canvas sneakers or skate shoes or other black shoes (often old and beaten up) and thick, black horn-rimmed glasses.

In recent years the popular media has associated emo with a stereotype that includes being emotional, sensitive, shy, introverted, or angsty.

Sid - you're not emigrating on us are you? :)

Just shows that love can bridge any distance....

Never Having To Say You Are Sorry:
pmsl. sorry, couldn't resist that.

Love to me is totally unconditional, and that honour can only be given to my children. I love them 'know matter what', literally.
I can always find another man (if needs be) - I can never replace my children.

2 words for you Sarah - Wayne Fiddes!!!! Need I say more - just a shame he will be spending Valentines with his wife and not his number 1 stalker!!!!

(Must explain for anyone reading this that Wayne is the Cap't of Swindon Wildcats and is gorgeousss - look at me, 40 with a school girl crush!!!)

Tracey xx(as if the Wayne Fiddes bit didn't give it away!)

How about this one?

Hi, this is Pam :)
This poem by Wendy Cope has always described my Phil :)The last of the non-romantics- I don't get flowers on valentines but I get them when needed - like last week when I was upset and ill :)

Some men never think of it
You did, You'd come along
And say you'd nearly bought me flowers
But something had gone wrong

The shop was closed. or you had doubts
The sort that minds like ours
Dream up incessantly. You thought
I might not want your flowers

It made me smile and hug you then
Now I can only smile
But look, the flowers you nearly brought
Have ;asted all this while.
